The Southern Maryland Scale Modelers meet every third Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm at High Tide Games, 22599 MacArthur Blvd, California, Maryland, (San Souci Plaza, between McKay's and Mission BBQ).

We are also meeting online via Zoom most Thursdays at 7pm -- an email is sent to members with meeting info.

Everyone is welcome, all we ask is that you bring a project, finished or not, theme or non-theme to share during our Show-N-Tell discussion. Okay, you don't really have to bring a project...

164: March 2017 Meeting

A friendly reminder that Southern Maryland Scale Modelers will meet at 7pm, Thursday, 16th March at the Pax River Museum.  We should be in Building B Conference Room, as usual.

This month's theme is I Spy: Any subject related to espionage, reconnaissance, or covert operations.

Bring a subject, finished or not, theme or non-theme and be prepared to talk about it during Show-n-Tell.

A couple of key items:

1) All finished theme kits will be placed on display in the cabinet for that right after the meeting.  So please be prepared to do that by including a short (half page, large print) description of your model.  I'll provide ageneral writeup regarding the theme.

2) Steve completed the A-5/A-3 kits for Ms Paula Pippin and will be bringing them in to return to her; she plans to be at the meeting.  This may take a few extra minutes so I plan to start at 7pm sharp if both her and Steve are there.

163: February 2017 Meeting Minutes

More typical participation for February.  15 members brought in 18 models.

More discussion and preparations for going to Old Dominion Open on 25 February.  Looks like a great table setup for the BBB -- Big Bomber Build.

Camberee -- Nothing new there.

Display Cabinet -- we now have a dedicated cabinet for our monthly theme kits.  Idea is to bring your theme kit with a short type-written history behind your kit and why it fits the theme.  After the meeting we will open the cabinet, take out the previous month's kits and take them home, then put the new ones in.  My mission will be to draft up a theme description.
