The Southern Maryland Scale Modelers meet every third Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm at High Tide Games, 22599 MacArthur Blvd, California, Maryland, (San Souci Plaza, between McKay's and Mission BBQ).

We are also meeting online via Zoom most Thursdays at 7pm -- an email is sent to members with meeting info.

Everyone is welcome, all we ask is that you bring a project, finished or not, theme or non-theme to share during our Show-N-Tell discussion. Okay, you don't really have to bring a project...

172: November 2017 Meeting

Just a friendly reminder for our November meeting, at 7pm Thursday, 16 November.  Location is Pax River Naval Aviation Museum, Building B (old building) in the Conference Room.

The theme for November - A+ Attitudes: Any attack aircraft like A-1, A-10, AH-1, A-6, etc.

For business we will confirm final pot luck list for Christmas and discuss state of Conference Room for meetings in the future.

Before you know it, February will be here and we will be bragging or bemoaning the state of our big kit group build: 1/28th scale Revell Biplanes.  Remember that our goal is to display them on the Club table at Old Dominion Open on February 24th, 2018 (and then again at the NOVA show and MarauderCon 2018).

170: September 2017 Meeting Minutes

We had 16 members with 17 models attend.

We discussed a group build of the Burma Banshees; late model P-40s (N-1 and N-5) in 1/72nd scale.  Dave graciously offered up decals for the known nose art aircraft and these were distributed to members who wanted to build one for a display next year.  Once shown at the display tables we take our models home and proudly display them on our shelves.

We also discussed a group build of King Kong '33 diorama.  Essentially 4 of us will convert the Revell 1/72nd scale PT-17 to look similar to the aircraft used in the film.  John agreed to scratch King Kong and the top of the Empire State building.  Another display for the show tables and then take them home.
