The Southern Maryland Scale Modelers meet every third Thursday of the month at 7:00 pm at High Tide Games, 22599 MacArthur Blvd, California, Maryland, (San Souci Plaza, between McKay's and Mission BBQ).

We are also meeting online via Zoom most Thursdays at 7pm -- an email is sent to members with meeting info.

Everyone is welcome, all we ask is that you bring a project, finished or not, theme or non-theme to share during our Show-N-Tell discussion. Okay, you don't really have to bring a project...

174: January 2018 Meeting

Just a friendly reminder that we will hold our January meeting at 7pm Thursday, 18th January at the NSi conference room.  21513 Great Mills Rd.

The Theme for January is "Delta, Delta, Delta" -- Something with a delta wing; something used by the Delta Forces; the "D" model of anything.  You get the idea...

Bring a finished model, or not.  Bring your current project, or not.  If you bring a model, please ensure it aligns with the theme, or not.  We also expect you to talk about your model, or not.  As always we expect that you'll have fun, and if you don't...nope, got nothing.

  • Swag -- shirts with our logo on them.

173: December 2017 Minutes

The only real business we had was confirming that we will continue to meet in the NSi conference room until the Museum's conference room is expanded.  We just have so many members!

We have lots to plan for the new year, and confirmed what we want on the display table for the Richmond show -- Old Dominion Open, 24th February, 2018.

  • 1/28 Revell Biplanes -- Our February theme build
  • 1/72 Burma Banshees (P-40Ns)
  • 1/72 F11C-2 Top Hatters VF-1 Squadron
  • "Bring your best" -- if room allows

The dirty Santa gift exchange was one of the best ever.  Lots of fun, lots of stealing, and after Andy's bashing of the Etendard kit, he ends up stealing a second one for himself!  Everyone went away with a kit they like and we decided on a NEW RULE:
"Any kit received in the December gift exchange must be built and brought to the following December show and tell."
How many can or will make that happen?
